Contemporary medical acupuncture is used to decrease muscle tightness, soreness, and inflammation, especially in muscles that aren't responding well to pressure.
Research supports the use of needles to reduce the inflammation associated with tendinitis, specifically in the elbow and shoulder. Acupuncture on the face can also be helpful for TMJ dysfunction and migraines, and Sarah RMT has developed a treatment protocol for migraines.
An electrostimulator can be attached to the needles to provide TENS-like treatment deep into the tissue. This is especially helpful to prevent muscle atrophy, tendonitis, and supporting Bell's Palsy.
Sliding cupping can also be utilized post-acupuncture. If applied precisely and with feather-light suction, it can also assist with lymphatic drainage.
Offered exclusively by Sarah RMT.
*Your RMT receipt will state that acupuncture was included in the massage treatment. We do not provide acupuncture-only receipts. Sarah is licensed and insured to incorporate acupuncture into her RMT treatments.
**The application of acupuncture during massage treatments must be discussed in advance of the start of the treatment, and will only be included after an additional risk/benefit consent conversation occurs.
***Approximately 20 minutes of the treatment time must be dedicated to applying the needles, allowing time for the body to respond, and to safely removing the needles.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to encourage positive changes throughout the body.
When essential oils are absorbed or inhaled, they send specific signals to an area of your brain called the limbic system, which can influence emotions and the nervous system. Aromatherapy can:
• Brighten your mood
• Ease stress, anxiety, and depression
• Encourage sleep
• Relax tense muscles including menstrual cramps
• Relieve headaches and respiratory congestion
• Reduce nausea
• Fight bacteria and cleanse the skin
Your therapist can help you choose from a selection of essential oil to customize your treatment.
Offered exclusively by Keeley RMT.
*Please note that not all RMT treatments are compatible with aromatherapy, such as lymphatic drainage or Thai floor massage, in which oils/lotions are specifically not used, or in such cases when a patient has complex or undiagnosed health conditions to reduce any possible risk of the absorbed essential oils interacting with medications.

Cupping therapy is the use of specialized suction cups to draw tissue away from the body, eliciting a decompressive force, as well is increasing local circulation for improved healing.

Thai massage is performed with you, the client, wearing flexible clothing, lying on a thick mat on the floor. Pillows can be used to bolster for comfort.
Your therapist will assist you through a series of passive stretches and yoga poses. Using their hands, feet, and legs as their tools, your therapist will manually roll your muscles over the bones in order to lengthen your muscles, decrease your pain, and revitalize your energy.
Because this ancient practice uses little to no oil and you remain clothed, it can be an ideal treatment for those seeking manual therapy in the middle of their workday. It's also perfect for those who need a deep stretching session, which can sometimes be difficult to achieve on a massage table.
